Where’s the Beef?
On the second day of our farewell tour we are staying with a friend in New Jersey. Along with giving us lodging and providing all sorts of nautical entertainment our hosts served this amazing London Broil for dinner. It was delicious and the meal played into my efforts to eat a lot of steak before leaving the country. We don’t eat a lot of beef in our household (unless you count hamburger), but enough that I am trying to store up some good experiences before we get to Tokyo where I am expecting some sticker shock for a good steak. I guess I will have to save my yen and splurge on some Kobe beef at least once while we are over there.
The house we are staying at is right on the lake and when we arrived Michael jumped in a dingy (after we got it in the water) and rowed out to a small island. He earned a couple of scraped knees for his trouble, which may have put a damper on his evening.
Later on we all hopped into the motor boat and went out to the middle of the lake to watch the sunset. And to end the relaxing evening we sat on the back porch watching the fireflies twinkle until it was time to turn in.
