Cookie Brittle

May 16, 2011

If you are looking for a new way to torture your children then read on.

Step 1: Wait until about 30 minutes before bedtime.

Step 2: Start Cooking some Cookie Brittle and tell them it should be ready before they have to go to sleep.

Step 3: Realize with total cooking time and allowing time for cooling the Cookie Brittle will not be available for consumption for about 30 minutes after they are in bed.

Step 4: Send hungry children to bed with the smell of chocolate chip cookies wafting in the air.

All things considered they took it pretty well. As penance I only had a really small piece once it was done cooling. I’m not exactly sure what cookie brittle is for, but I think it would be great on top of ice cream. It is really just a dense chocolate chip cookie, which makes sense because it has all the same ingredients you just leave out the eggs and double the butter. It is delicious by itself , but I think I will have to go out and get some vanilla ice cream tomorrow just to do a full analysis.

Recipe #89: Cookie Brittle

Damn Good Food Quote of the Day: He was a monster for sweets.

I like step 4. Most of the children love the cookie.
