Two Malts would have been greedy, right?

January 26, 2011

No one did any cooking in the house tonight. Instead we went out for burgers and malt’s at one of my favorite local restaurants, Snuffy’s Malt Shop. We found ourselves in the rare situation of only one child at home for dinner. We decided to take advantage of not having to balance three different styles of picky eaters. Also Sarah is the middle child so she is always the least likely to be the only child and she deserves to be spoiled sometimes too. I threw out a few choices for her and she picked Snuffy’s. Just because she doesn’t eat hamburgers doesn’t mean her decision was entirely based on getting a Chocolate Brownie Malt. She claims she also likes the chicken strips.

I really enjoy going to Snuffy’s. It’s no Hell’s Kitchen , but the food is affordable and tasty and the service is always great. You can’t really ask for more than that in a burger joint.  I love the idealized 50’s malt shop interior and did I mention they serve malts? They have four different locations in the Twin Cities, but they are not a chain. This means in addition to enjoying my dining experience I get to support a local small business. Sarah did go for the chicken strips, but both Kira and I stayed with the classic Snuffy Burger. Kira and Sarah split a Chocolate Brownie Malt and I stayed classic again and went with Vanilla.

Snuffy’s Malt Shop Quote of the Day: Malts made the way they oughtta be.

I note there was the required cream and frying included in the meal…so it still counts as Damn Good Food!

Two malts may have been greedy, but oh so good! Congrats on controlling yourself!

Have to set a good example, you know. If I had two malts, then my daughter would have wanted two malts.
